- Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the organization, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses to provide insights into organizational performance and inform decision-making.
- Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure the organization maintains financial stability and meets its operational needs.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as best practices in financial management.
- Collaborate with department directors to monitor budget performance and provide guidance on financial matters, including cost control and resource allocation.
- Analyze funding opportunities and prepare proposals to secure federal and state contracts, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize organizational impact.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Serve as a key liaison with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory agencies, and funding sources.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in finance, preferably in a nonprofit or government contracting environment.
- Proven track record of managing budgets of $10 million or more and experience with federal and state funding sources.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present findings to diverse audiences.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
